Loch Garbh

Garbh is in a lovely setting just off the forestry track east of Altnabreac. Oval in shape it provides easy wading throughout although the southern end is very shallow and stony and is rarely fished as a result. This used to be a cracking loch but through years of under fishing the stock of fish has risen but the average size is down. Now more people are beginning to discover what a lovely loch Garbh is to fish we hope that it will soon return to the sort of form which used to rival Sletill and Coal.

This is another loch with good hatches of Mayfly and Olives (as well as other fly life) and standard wets can be used to full effect. Flies with green in them can obviously be successful during the right hatches and dry fly can also work (and add to the fun) on occasions. Feel confident in fishing all round the loch except the south end.
