Little loch Caise lies right next to the forestry track east of Altnabreac on the way to Grassie and Garbh. It is circular and can be fished from both bank and boat. This is the beginner’s loch par excellence being small, easily accessible and absolutely full to the brim with eager trout just dying to grab your flies. This is a great place to introduce beginners to classic loch style boat fishing in the safest of environments.
The fish, of course, are not very big but fish of around a pound have been taken. Tactics are easy. Take three flies at random from your box, tie to your cast, cast flies in water and catch hard fighting small Brown Trout. Repeat until maximum enjoyment has been attained! If you fail to catch a trout here we recommend you take up Train Spotting!
Caise also has an excellent reputation with the so-called experts (especially those who have blanked on one of the other lochs and want to catch a fish on the way back to the Hotel).
